About Us
The Branson Parks & Recreation Department is located in the Branson RecPlex. The Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of recreational programs and special events to our citizens. We also provide oversight of 16 city parks, ranging from small neighborhood parks to large wilderness areas with hiking trails totaling more than 462 acres and 17.83 miles of trails. Mission Statement
We will be progressive, innovative, and resourceful, and will work in partnership with citizens to provide recreational opportunities for the enjoyment of our community. We are committed to maintaining quality parks and facilities to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Branson.
The Department is headed by the Director of Parks & Recreation, Cindy Shook and Assistant Director, Kris Parks and consists of the following divisions:
Recreation Services
Our staff coordinates recreation programs, sports leagues, and special events for all ages throughout the city at various locations and facilities. For information regarding youth sports and leagues, adult sports, special events, Day Camp, or the Branson Waves Swim Team, contact Recreation Manager, Joshua Aubin.
Park & Recreation Facilities
Interested in using room space or having a birthday party at the Pool? We oversee facilities such as the Branson RecPlex, the AquaPlex, and the Park Pavilions. We even have a Dog Park for your four-legged friends. Contact the RecPlex at (417)335-2368. The Branson Community Center offers a variety of senior activities and is a popular setting for family reunions or wedding receptions. Park Maintenance
Our department oversees 16 parks in the City of Branson that offer a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities. Each park has different features to offer, including picnic pavilions, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, walking paths, and trails. Jim Cartright serves as the Parks Maintenance Superintendent in charge of maintenance for City Parks and the Branson RecPlex.
