About Us

The Branson Parks & Recreation Department is located in the Branson RecPlex. The Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of recreational programs and special events to our citizens. We also provide oversight of 16 city parks totaling more than 300 acres, ranging from small neighborhood parks to large wilderness areas with hiking trails. We will be progressive, innovative and resourceful, and will work in partnership with citizens to provide recreational opportunities for the enjoyment of our community. We are committed to maintain quality parks and facilities to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Branson.


The Department is headed by the Director of Parks & Recreation, Cindy Shook, and Assistant Director, Brien Halterman, and consists of the following divisions:

Recreation Services

Our staff coordinates recreation programs, sports leagues, and special events for all ages throughout the city at various locations and facilities. For information regarding youth sports and leagues, contact Recreation Specialist, Josh Aubin. For information regarding adult sports, special events, Day Camp or the Branson Waves Swim Team, contact Recreation Specialist, Sarah Marsh.

Park & Recreation Facilities

Interested in using room space or having a birthday party at the Pool?  We oversee facilities such as the Branson RecPlex, the AquaPlex, the Park Pavilions. We even have a Dog Park for your four-legged friends. Contact Parks Business Supervisor, Carlie Allison, regarding these facilities.  The Branson Community Center is also available and a popular setting for a family reunion or wedding reception. Park Maintenance

Our department oversees 16 parks in the City of Branson that offer a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities. Each park has different features to offer, including picnic pavilions, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, walking paths and trails. Jim Cartright serves as the Park Maintenance Supervisor in charge of maintenance for City Parks and the Branson RecPlex.
