City of Branson Awarded Grant to Support Tree Risk Assessment Training

News Posted on February 13, 2026

(BRANSON, MO, February 13, 2026) The City of Branson Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded grant funding to support advanced professional training in urban forestry and tree safety. The funding will allow Laura Perry, Landscape & Trails Supervisor, to attend International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) training.

The ISA TRAQ program provides standardized, industry-recognized training for evaluating tree health and identifying potential risks associated with trees in public spaces. Completion of the TRAQ qualification will enhance the department’s ability to conduct consistent and data-informed tree inspections throughout Branson’s parks, trials, and public properties. The training strengthens proactive risk management efforts while supporting the long-term health and sustainability of the community’s urban forest.

“Our parks and trails are gathering places for families, visitors, and neighbors,” said Perry. “This training helps us better protect those spaces while ensuring our trees remain healthy and thriving for future generations.”

This grant supports ongoing efforts by the Parks and Recreation Department to proactively manage trees on public property, improve internal staff training, and maintain healthy, resilient landscapes across Branson’s park system.
