As part of ongoing efforts to find new ways to save taxpayers’ money and to be more environmentally sustainable, the City of Branson has implemented a new online faxing system that will reduce City costs $6,350 annually.
Seventeen city fax lines have now been converted to online paperless faxing, using Faxage. With this new fax system, faxes are sent the same way on the sender’s end but our employees can now send and receive faxes through e-mail. This will save the City $6,350.40 per year in phone line charges. In addition, the City will reduce its use of paper, toner and machine maintenance.
The City is especially proud of this achievement because it was initiated by an employee through the City’s “Green 4 Green” sustainability recognition program. This program incentivizes all employees to continually look for new ways to save taxpayer money and be more sustainable through grants and awards.
Information Technology, employee Matt Gregory initiated this project and was recognized with a $200 “Green 4 Green Award” by City Administrator, Stan Dobbins at the quarterly employee meeting on March 25, 2019.
