MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF OKLAHOMA MAN SATURDAY EVENING
Branson, MO (August 27, 2017 11:44AM) – At approximately 8:20PM on Saturday, August 26, emergency personnel responded to reports of a head-on accident in the area of State Highway 165 and New Berry Road in Branson, Missouri.
Arriving responders found that the accident involved a motorcycle and an SUV. The motorcycle operated by Rickey Wayne Maass, Jr (age 27) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was seriously injured, requiring immediate life-saving efforts. Maass was transported to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield (MO) where he was pronounced deceased.
Initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle driven by Maass failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into oncoming traffic where it struck an SUV head-on that was driven by Wendy Knoll of Harrison, Arkansas. No occupants of the SUV were injured.
Branson Police and Branson Fire & Rescue responded to the scene along with emergency personnel of Taney County Ambulance District and Western Taney County Fire Protection District. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the cause of the accident.
