Public Invited! Celebrate Opening Week of Youth Baseball at Branson RecPlex May 1-4, 2017

Branson, MO (April 27, 2017) – The Branson Parks & Recreation invites the public to celebrate opening week of its summer youth baseball and softball season, May 1-2 and May 4 at the Branson RecPlex.

All festivities kick off at 5:15PM with nightly performances of the National Anthem by Branson celebrities as the colors are presented by the Branson Fire Department Color Guard assisted by the Branson Police Department, followed by ceremonial pitches thrown by Mayor Karen Best and Police Chief Stan Dobbins. The celebrations will include bounce houses, concession specials and more.

With ‘Mascot Night’ taking place on Monday, May 1 to begin the weeklong festivities, the public is invited following the Open House event at Branson City Hall (4:00-6:00) to take pictures with ‘Louie’ from the Springfield Cardinals from 5:15-6:15PM.

On Tuesday, May 2 at 5:15PM, the Fogle Family Fun Night will begin with a special ribbon-cutting to celebrate the addition of the new batting cages at the Branson RecPlex ball fields. The batting cages, made possible by a generous donation from the Fogle Family Foundation, have already proven popular with local and tournament teams playing at the RecPlex.

Join us on Thursday, May 4 for ‘Police & Fire Appreciation Night’ beginning at 5:15PM, the final opening week event. Kicking off with a ceremonial pitch by Branson Police Chief Stan Dobbins, fire engines and police vehicles will be displayed on site along with public safety personnel for photos. Concession specials include $1 hot dogs and Andy’s Frozen Custard.

Daily admission is $1.00 for those participants over the age of 12, children under 12 are free.
