MEDIA ALERT

Public Invited to “Dinner with the Chiefs” Event on April 21 to Raise Funds to Host the SCOTT Firefighter Combat Challenge in Branson

Branson, MO (April 9, 2017) – The Branson Firefighters Association in collaboration with Pasghettis Restaurant & Attraction invites the public to its first “Dinner with the Chiefs” event on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 6:00-8:00PM.

Attendees will visit with Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin and Branson Police Chief Stan Dobbins to ask questions and learn about Branson public safety initiatives and other priorities while enjoying a dinner comprised of a trifecta plate of lasagna, pasta Alfredo and spaghetti with large meatball, salad and tea, soda or coffee. Alcoholic beverages are not included, but may be purchased at an additional cost during the event.

Tickets are available to the first 50 registrants, and prices are based on a requested $100 tax-deductible donation. The funds will enable the Branson Firefighters Association (BFFA) to host the upcoming Scott’s Firefighter Combat Challenge at Branson Landing May 5-6, 2017.

Internationally acclaimed as the toughest two minutes in sports, this is an exciting and highly competitive sports event that has been covered by ESPN for over 12 years. The event draws thousands of fire & rescue participants from around the world to compete in two-minute sprints wearing "full bunker gear" and the Scott 5.5 Air-Pak breathing apparatus. Competitors race head-to-head as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting, performing a linked series of five challenges in which they climb a 5-story tower while hoisting, chopping and dragging hoses, then rescue a life-sized, 175-lb. "victim" as they race against themselves, their opponent and the clock.

The Branson Firefighters Association (BFFA) will apply the proceeds from the fundraising dinner to host the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge in Branson which has been chosen as the host city of the regional and World Series competitions over the next four years.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 417-243-2780, or at Branson Fire Rescue Station 1 on West Highway 76 (ask for Robert). The Branson Firefighters Association (BFFA) is a 501c3 not-for-profit, so all ticket donations are tax-deductible.
