Multiple Agencies Working with Branson Police to Execute a Federal Search Results in Arrest and Recovery of Large Quantity of Heroin and Other Narcotics
Branson, MO (March 31, 2017) – The Branson Police Department working in cooperation with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and COMET executed a federal search warrant at a Branson apartment on Thursday March 30, 2017. The search resulted in the recovery of a large amount of narcotics believed to be heroin and other illicit drugs, along with the recovery of two firearms and the arrest of the individual in possession of the narcotics.
“We have seen a spike in the number of heroin overdoses in the area and it is our belief that this heroin, along with the individual arrested, are directly tied to those overdoses,” say Branson Police Chief. “This is an excellent example of effective cooperation between multiple agencies to rectify a growing concern nationwide and what could otherwise become a serious issue in our community.”
Charges are pending in regards to the individual taken into custody. To provide tips or knowledge of any suspicious activity, individuals can help fight crime in Branson by contacting the Branson Police Department at 417.337.8534.
