Branson, MO (November 29, 2016) – The City of Branson Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded the Tree Resource, Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) Grant from the Missouri Conservation Department. The TRIM Grant is a cost-share program administered by Missouri Department of Conservation in cooperation with the Missouri Community Forestry Council and the U.S. Forest Service. The goal of the program is to provide financial assistance for community forestry benefits through the proper management and care of trees in Missouri communities.
This grant will be used for tree care and management at North Beach Park. As part of the project, the City of Branson Parks Department will be removing and trimming trees in the park. “Although it is necessary to remove trees that have reached the end of their life cycles, we believe it will make the area safer for visitors to the park,” says Cindy Shook, City of Branson Director of Parks & Recreation. Shook indicated that the Parks Department had already planted trees and has plans to replace those that will be removed.
North Beach Park will be closed Tuesday December 6 through Wednesday December 7 for tree trimming and removal. For questions or further information, contact City of Branson Director of Parks & Recreation, Cindy Shook at 417.335.2368.
