Series of Meetings Launches Monday, January 29 on Vision & Scope

(BRANSON, Mo.  1/23/24) – The City of Branson is launching a series of special Board of Aldermen meetings intended to evaluate and boost the City’s future economic growth.  The meetings are designed to assist in determining the City’s long-term vision and development priorities, and as a key objective, spur investment in existing and new business development. The City encourages the public and individuals interested in the growth and development of Branson to provide public comment and input at the launch meeting occurring on January 29 concerning the vision and scope for the City’s priorities and economic development plan.

The series of meetings will be conducted by the City of Branson’s Administration and the City’s economic development leadership.  The intent is to review current practices and available incentive tools; better understand the priorities of the community; and explore potential modernization of the City’s economic development policy – with the goal of promoting an increase of local investment.

“My top priority and vision for 2024 is to make Branson truly ‘Open for Business.’ These discussions are a critical step in accomplishing this by evaluating our City’s opportunities for future growth and implement innovative ways to encourage new and existing businesses to invest in our vision,” said Mayor Larry Milton. “I strongly encourage members of the business community and interested residents to provide input on shaping the future economic growth of Branson,” said Milton.

“We want to create a stronger environment for our local businesses, all while attracting new development, in order for our city to grow and prosper, now, and in the future,” said City Administrator Cathy Stepp. “I look forward to our series of dynamic conversations with the community about how we can beautify, expand, and modernize while still preserving our tradition and heritage. It will be fantastic and forward-moving momentum that our city truly deserves,” said Stepp.

The discussions will be held at City Hall in the Council Chambers on the following dates:

Monday, January 29th (1st Session) - 6pm

  • Topic: Overview of Branson’s economic development history, initiate community self-assessment, discuss development priorities, and review important considerations for economic development policies

Tuesday, January 30th (2nd Session) – 6pm

  • Topic: In-depth training related to Missouri economic development incentives

February 29th (3rd Session) – 6pm
