BRANSON, Mo – The Branson Police Department would like to invite the community to help welcome five new employees and celebrate two promotions at the Department’s Badge Pinning ceremony on December 19, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Branson City Hall located at 110 W. Maddux St.

The Police Department will welcome new officers Austin Simmons, Johnathan Sigmin, Jordan Harder and Will Huber as well as new dispatcher, Taeler Martin. Assistant Chief Schmitt will be promoted to Police Chief and Officer Greg Yartz will be promoted to Police Sgt.

“We are ecstatic to witness the progression of Greg Yartz. He always goes above and beyond for our community,” said Branson Police Chief Eric Schmitt. “We are also excited to be adding to our family. Our agency is very grateful for the continued support of the city leadership, Board of Aldermen and community during this nationwide law enforcement recruiting shortage. We are optimistic that our recent pay increase adjustment will help us turn a corner to be able to fill all open positions,” said Chief Schmitt.

The badge pinning ceremony will include comments from Branson Mayor Larry Milton and Chief Schmitt and will culminate with the new officers being sworn in and a badge pinning by the officers’ loved ones. This ceremony will be live-streamed at www.BransonMo.Gov/Livestream to watch as it happens or to playback anytime.
