Media invited to major milestone in undergrounding utilities project Tuesday morning

Please join the City of Branson and partners to watch a major milestone in the ongoing undergrounding utilities on W. 76 Country Blvd on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, as the overhead power lines will start to come down at 9:00 a.m. in front of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! located at 3326 W. 76 Country Blvd.

Director of Branson’s Public Works/Engineering, Keith Francis, will be available for interviews. Please contact Communications Manager Melody Pettit at 417-213-0041 with any questions. This work is dependent on weather. If it rains, the work may be postponed.

“The whole idea of the project was to remove the overhead power lines, so actually getting to see it happen is exciting. It’s taken a lot of time, work and community partnerships to get to this point. This project will make a tremendous difference in how W. 76 Country Blvd looks as well as improve the safety of both drivers and pedestrians,” said Branson Public Works/Engineering Director Keith Francis.

The undergrounding utilities project began on January 5, 2022, as the result of the positive partnership between the 76 Entertainment Community Improvement District (CID) and the local government at City Hall and is an important step to continue the 76 revitalization project. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete by the end of April 2022.
