Branson Police Investigating Suspected Overdose Death

On February 23, 2021, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Branson Police Department and EMS personnel responded to a call of an unconscious male in the restroom at the McDonald's located at 2214 W 76 Country Blvd.

The male was pronounced deceased by medical personnel after life-saving efforts were attempted. Based on preliminary evidence at the scene, officers believe the death is possibly the result of a drug overdose.

Branson police investigators are conducting a full and complete investigation. The body was released to the Taney County Coroner who will release the victim's identity once next of kin are notified. This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information will be immediately released.

The Branson Police Department encourages citizens to contact the Branson Police Department with any information concerning this investigation or any suspected illegal activity. Citizens may contact the Branson Police at 417-334-3300 with any information or are encouraged to dial 911 when public safety responses are needed.
