- 2015 Branson Green Initiative Awards
The 2015 Branson Green Initiative Award winners were announced and presented with awards at a Board of Aldermen meeting at City Hall. Three award winners were selected for their impressive sustainability achievements and commitment to Branson's sustainability efforts.
Paws and Hands United for their efforts in recycling and for their efforts in raising money by collecting cans from local businesses and individuals. Paws and Hands United drop off locations to collect cans at the Branson Heights Service Center on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, Sunny Hills Nursery on E State Highway 76, and the Branson Veterinary Hospital on N Wintergreen Road. Volunteers collect cans in Branson and Hollister for those that are not able to drop dispose of them at one of the recycling facilities.
Branson Convention Center for their efforts in recycling and sustainability. Since the change in management on April 1, 2014 SMG Worldwide Entertainment and Convention Venue Management strives to reduce their carbon footprint at the Convention Center. In nine months they reduced their KWHs by over 1 million or 25 percent. Other practices implemented were:
