Your Branson Fire Department

The Branson Fire Department was organized shortly after incorporation as a City in 1912.  The first ordinance on record for the fire department was documented in 1913 describing the duties of a Fire Warden.  The City purchased its first motorized fire apparatus in 1927.  The fire department was staffed by community volunteers for most of these years.  In 1993 the first six career firefighters were hired to serve the community.

Today, Branson Fire Rescue is a full-service fire department operating from four (4) fire stations.  Each of the fire stations is budgeted to have four (4) personnel on duty each day.  This includes a Captain, an Engineer, and two Firefighters.  Each shift is assigned a Battalion Chief.  This provides staffing for three (3) Fire Engines and one (1) Ladder Truck staffed 24 hours a day with three (3) rotating shifts.

A Fire Chief, an Assistant Fire Chief, and Division Chiefs of Operations, Training & Safety, and Fire Prevention lead the fire department.  Each of the Chiefs is also assigned a Duty Chief rotation to support the Operations Personnel 24/7.

Additional support personnel include two (2) Fire Marshal positions in the Fire Prevention Division, an Emergency Management Coordinator in the Emergency Management Division, plus an Office Specialist II & Fire Analyst assigned to the Administration Division.
