BRANSON, Mo — The Branson Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Commission would like to update residents, stakeholders and media on an approaching TIF Commission hearing, that is currently scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall.
The purpose of this meeting is to hear evidence about the proposed Aquarium at the Boardwalk TIF Plan. However, there is a scheduling conflict due to a School Board meeting scheduled at the same time. Due to statutory notice requirements, it is not possible to reschedule the TIF Commission hearing at this late date. Consequently, in order to ensure the commission has every representative present, at the hearing on January 17, TIF Commission Chairman, Jeff Seifried plans to request a motion from the TIF Commission to continue the hearing that evening until 9:00 am the following morning, January 18, at the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall.
It will be at the discretion of the TIF Commission to make and approve this motion, however, it is extremely likely that this will occur to allow the School District’s members to attend. If the motion is approved by the commission any presentations, discussions and public input will take place at 9:00 a.m. on January 18, 2019.
A quorum of the TIF Commission must be present to convene the meeting and open the public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on January 17, however, business related to the proposed TIF Plan is not expected to take place until the following morning.
