City Looking for Feedback on Proposed New Sign Code

The City of Branson Planning & Development Department is asking for public feedback on a proposed new sign code for the City, which would affect the rules and regulations pertaining to all signs and billboards in the community, including height, size, and location on a property.

The Planning & Development Department has worked on this proposed new code for the last six months, taking direction from community stakeholders and Branson’s “Community Plan 2030,” a long-term vision for the City created by residents and community members. The 2030 plan includes specific direction for an updated sign code to minimize sign clutter which detracts from the overall guest experience, limit billboards to the greatest extent possible and ensure signage is proportional and designed to enhance their impact to the public realm.

The full version of the proposed new sign regulations can be found here:  https://www.bransonmo.gov/signcodeupdate

The City invites residents and community members to review the proposed new sign code and contact Planning & Development Director, Joel Hornickel, with any comments or concerns before February 1, 2019. He can be reached by email, at jhornickel@bransonmo.gov, by phone at (417) 337-8546 or in person at the Planning & Development office located inside City Hall.
